Participating schools include

The goal of the ‘Promoting Teacher Mental Health’ project is to improve teachers’ mental health and wellbeing and prevent mental injury. The project is funded by WorkSafe Victoria’s WorkWell Mental Health Improvement Fund and will benefit up to 3,600 teachers and 40+ schools over a two-year period.

FREE Consulting

  • Access to a dedicated consultant from the Institute of Positive Education for a period of 6 months (2 school terms) to help guide your school through understanding psychological hazards and create a safer space for your staff.
  • Free access to the online platform FlourishDX to help support a mentally healthy workplace
  • Gap analysis of current employee mental health provisions with the Workplace Mental Health Audit
  • OHS Policy and risk register review
  • Senior Leadership Team presentation and ongoing support to implement initiatives that help to address the work related factors that lead to poor mental health
  • Half-day workshop for Health and Safety Representatives and Wellbeing Champions
  • Receive access and contribute to the project Knowledge Sharing Hub
  • Ongoing remote support

  • Mental Health Awareness eLearning (can be mapped to AITSL standards for 1.5 hours of Teacher PL)
  • SLT/Line manager psychological health and safety eLearning modules
  • Four included online surveys (Risk assessment, Flourish survey, VIA survey, Wellbeing Check in) with unlimited survey completions
  • Mental fitness chat bot
  • Audio guided meditations
  • Fully accessible via mobile/tablet app or desktop
  • Email support for all users
  • ISO 27001 certified system with all data hosted in Australia (data sovereignty)

Schools will need to be in a position to make positive changes to workplace mental health at a whole of school level. There will therefore need to be a strong commitment from senior leadership in order for your school to be considered for participation in this valuable initative.

The period of consulting engagement is up to 6 months (2 school terms). Free access to FlourishDx is until 31 December 2022 for all schools (regardless of intake). I want our school to participate. What’s next?

Schools wanting to participate will be required to complete the expression of interest form.

There are three intakes for the project. Schools in the first intake will start implementation at the beginning of Term 1 2021 and receive consultation support until the end of Term 2 2021. Schools in the second intake will start in Term 3 2021 and finish by the end of Term 4 2021. Schools in the third intake will start in Term 1 2022 and finish by the end of Term 2 2022.
